Overview

Compliance Officers play a crucial role in ensuring that all programs and operations adhere to legal standards and organizational policies. They monitor compliance processes, conduct audits, and provide training to staff, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency within the nonprofit. Their work helps safeguard the integrity of our mission to drive social impact in Uganda and beyond.

Responsibilities

  1. Monitor and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  2. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps.
  3. Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
  4. Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related matters.
  5. Review and analyze internal processes to enhance compliance effectiveness.
  6. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and reports.
  7. Collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure best practices are followed.
  8. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting the nonprofit sector.
  9. Assist in preparing documents for regulatory submissions and audits.
  10. Respond to compliance inquiries and manage reporting processes.
