Overview

The Cyber Security Officer is responsible for protecting the organization's digital assets and ensuring the safety of sensitive information. This role involves implementing security protocols, monitoring for threats, and educating staff on best practices to maintain a secure online environment. By safeguarding our technology, the officer helps us focus on our mission to drive social impact in Uganda and beyond.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect organizational data.
  2. Monitor network and system security for potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  3. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify weaknesses.
  4. Respond to security incidents and breaches, coordinating recovery efforts.
  5. Provide training and awareness programs for staff on cybersecurity best practices.
  6. Maintain and update security software and hardware to ensure optimal protection.
  7. Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security measures into operations.
  8. Stay current with cybersecurity trends and regulations relevant to nonprofit organizations.
  9. Prepare reports on security status and incidents for stakeholders.
  10. Advise on data privacy compliance and protection strategies.
