Overview

The Transport Officer is responsible for overseeing the transportation logistics of our programs, ensuring that resources and personnel are efficiently and safely mobilized across Uganda. This role involves coordinating vehicle maintenance, managing travel schedules, and supporting program teams to maximize our impact in the community. By facilitating smooth transport operations, the Transport Officer plays a crucial role in helping us deliver essential services to those in need.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and manage all transportation logistics for program activities.
  2. Ensure safe and timely transport of staff, volunteers, and materials.
  3. Maintain and oversee the vehicle fleet, including regular maintenance and inspections.
  4. Develop and implement transport policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  5. Monitor fuel consumption and manage transportation budgets effectively.
  6. Train and supervise drivers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  7. Manage vehicle scheduling and allocation based on program needs.
  8. Maintain accurate records of transport activities and vehicle usage.
  9. Assist in the procurement of vehicles and transport-related supplies as needed.
  10. Collaborate with other departments to support overall organizational goals.
