Overview

The Procurement Officer plays a vital role in ensuring that our nonprofit has the resources needed to drive social impact in Uganda. This position involves sourcing and purchasing goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies to support our mission effectively. Your work will help us maximize our resources and enhance our programs for the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  3. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements in all procurement activities.
  4. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
  5. Prepare and maintain accurate procurement documentation and reports.
  6. Collaborate with program teams to understand their procurement needs and timelines.
  7. Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as necessary.
  8. Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
  9. Facilitate training for staff on procurement policies and procedures.
  10. Assist in the development of annual procurement plans and budgets.
