Chief Legal Officer

Overview

The Chief Legal Officer is responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to our nonprofit operations in Uganda. This role ensures compliance with local and international laws, provides strategic legal advice, and protects the organization’s interests while supporting our mission to drive social impact. The CLO will also work closely with leadership to navigate legal challenges and foster partnerships that align with our goals.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all legal aspects of Little x Little’s operations and compliance.
  2. Provide legal advice to the board and executive team on governance and organizational issues.
  3. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with partners and stakeholders.
  4. Ensure compliance with local and international laws relevant to nonprofit operations.
  5. Manage any legal disputes or litigation involving the organization.
  6. Develop and implement organizational policies to mitigate legal risks.
  7. Conduct training sessions for staff on legal and ethical standards.
  8. Stay updated on changes in laws that may affect nonprofit organizations.
  9. Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
