Overview

The Assistant Accountant at the organisation plays a vital role in supporting our financial operations by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with budget preparation. This position ensures that our financial practices align with our mission to drive social impact in Uganda, enabling us to effectively support our programs and community initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Support the budgeting process by tracking expenses and revenues.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with the annual audit process and provide necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with program teams to monitor grant expenditures.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
