Overview

Compliance Officers play a crucial role in ensuring that our programs and operations align with legal standards and best practices. They monitor compliance with regulations, conduct audits, and provide guidance to staff, helping to maintain transparency and accountability in all our initiatives. Their work supports our mission to drive social impact in Uganda by safeguarding our integrity and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to local and international regulations relevant to nonprofit operations.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and volunteers on compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
  • Respond to compliance-related inquiries and investigations promptly.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting nonprofit organizations.
  • Prepare reports on compliance activities and present findings to leadership.
